The Iranian diplomat walked out of a dinner meeting Condaleeza Rice was attending citing that the female violinist was dressed too revealing. This went against his religious belief, so he said. Of course, that was just a pretense but that he even thought to use it boggles my mind.
And let's not forget that there is a warrant for Richard Gere's arrest for kissing an Indian woman in public because such an act corrupts society. The judge who issued the order has since been transferred but the warrant has not been withdrawn.

I have similar debates every week with traditional christians who fervently believe they are right about something that goes against the grain of progress. But how can you argue with someone who truly believes God is their debate captain?
