Obama Mama

Tomorrow is the Democratic primary in South Carolina. According to the political pundits, it looks like Hillary will edge out Barack. I hope not but I hoped America would wake up and not re-elect Bush.

I am for Obama not because he is African-American but because of his message of hope and change and not doing business as usual. I am not for Hillary not because she is a woman but because I remember her as First Lady and I don't trust her.

Last Sunday I listened to a discussion about why women should not be preachers. The debate was between two ministers, a wife and a mother-in-law. I brought up that there was a woman judge that ruled over Israel. They said she was a co-judge with Barack and that he was the one who actually went to battle. It struck me as such fatalistic irony that the first Black man to run for president that has a real chance of actually winning is a man named Barack and that he is running against the first woman who has a real chance of winning. Irony.
